Muslim group debates the BNP and EDL

Next week a group called the ‘The Muslim Debate Initiative‘ will host a discussion with invited members from the far-right to “debate the contentions on Islam, the Muslim community in England/Europe, and the impact of immigration”.
On 10th December, MDI claim they will have a open and frank discussion with representatives from groups including the BNP, Stop Islamisation of Europe, English Defence League, the British Humanist Association and others. According to their website they say security will be present there,
‘The Islamification of Britain: Reality or Myth?’ and will be held in central London, at Conway Hall, Holborn. What’s interesting is that it is being organised by Abdullah al Andalusi, who is positioning himself as the main Muslim speaker at the event.
Mr Al Andalusi has earlier been featured on and possibly ran the blog ‘Secularism Exposed‘ (now password-protected) to expound his beliefs. He has appeared a few times on TV channels such as Press TV and the Islam Channel.
If the event goes ahead it will be the first in which a Muslim organisation has offered a platform to virulent critics such as Stop Islamisation of Europe, who’s head Stephen Gash has said he thinks all Muslims are extremists, and the BNP. The event on the 10th [more here] will come just days before a proposed protest by SIOE at a major Mosque in Harrow, London.
